Diamonds in Dumpster Fires

About the host

Hi, I’m Melie—

and yes, I know what it’s like when life goes up in flames.

Diamonds in Dumpster Fires, literally.

After a traumatic divorce left me emotionally wrecked and spiritually exhausted, I didn’t just rebuild my life—I renewed my brain.

Now, I help others who feel like they’re rising from the rubble do the same.

I’m also the host of Diamonds in Dumpster Fires, a podcast where faith meets brain science and we get real about what healing actually looks like.

I hold a Master’s in Religious Studies, a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health, and I’m currently a PhD student in Social Psychology. I’m also a certified Life Breakthrough Coach with additional training in brain coaching and a Resilience Strategist—because I believe healing is both sacred and scientific.

Think of me as your emotionally scrappy, faith-fueled guide with a growing arsenal of brain science. I’ve lived the dumpster fire—and now I’m studying the science behind how we rise.

Resilience isn’t about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about learning how to stand back up—with the help of your nervous system, your community, and your Creator.

Whether you’re crawling out of a divorce, reeling from betrayal, or just trying to find your way back to yourself after a hard season—you’re not broken. And you’re not alone.

Melie Williams podcasts from Southern California, where she turns life’s messes into meaningful conversations.
